  • Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a serum or plasma sample to determine Troponin T, the circulating tropomyosin-binding subunit of cardiac troponin (cTnT). Troponin is a complex of globular muscle proteins that inhibits contraction by blocking the interaction of actin and myosin; it is usually bound to tropomyosin. The level of liberated cTnT is a highly specific marker of the occurrence of ischemic heart injuries (as the result of myocardial infarction).
