Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analysis of body fluids (typically serum) to determine the level of uric acid. A high level of uric acid is associated with several diseases, including renal failure, gout, organic aciduria, and genetic disorders; hyperuricemia also occurs after administration of some drugs (e.g., diuretics) or as a product of intoxication (e.g., lead poisoning).
