Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analysis of blood to determine the level of sugar residues that are added to proteins as the result of an irreversible nonenzymatic reaction (glycation). The level of glycated proteins in blood (e.g., hemoglobin) is a measure of the integrated values for glucose over a period of time, is free from daily fluctuations of glucose level, and provides additional criteria for glucose control.
