Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses on a body fluid sample to determine the presence of angiotensin converting enzyme (peptidyl-dipeptidase). This enzyme, usually found in the luminal surface of the lungs, converts angiotensin I into activated angiotensin II, a powerful vasoconstrictor. Angiotensin also stimulates the zona glomerulosa to produce aldosterone as part of renal metabolism.
