Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum) to determine circulating antibodies against antigenic determinants frequently found in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (i.e., rheumatoid factors). Determination of rheumatoid factors (RFs) is the most consistent prognostic of joint damage and functional disabilities in early rheumatoid arthritis; its determination is frequently used in combination with the determination of other autoimmune antibodies (e.g., cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies) to increase the levels of prediction.
