Lower/upper-limb orthoses designed to provide support and some degree of movement control to injured limbs that consist of a padded strip (i.e., a padded stay splint). These orthoses typically consist of a rigid or semi-rigid metallic or plastic supporting stay that is appropriately padded and kept in place using straps or other elastic material. Padded stay splints are mainly used to support injured limbs or limb segments (e.g., legs, hands, arms, wrists) during rehabilitation.
