Multipurpose pre-shaped splints made of aluminum designed for customization to the appropriate shape to fit the needs of the patient at the point of care. These splints typically consist of a thin aluminum sheet usually covered with padding material at both sides that can be modified only to a limited degree according to the body part and the needs of the patient. Pre-shaped aluminum splint orthoses are intended mainly for emergency treatment of patients suffering fractures, sprains, dislocations, and/or other injuries of the limbs, neck, and/or other body parts. Dedicated aluminum pre-shaped orthoses intended for a particular body part (e.g., arm, forearm, leg) are also available.
