A standardized rating scale developed by Vickrey et al in 1995 and 1997, which combines items that are generic and disease-specific to assess quality of life and the level of physical, emotional, and cognitive functions in patients with multiple sclerosis. The questionnaire contains 54 questions and generates 12 subscales: physical function, role limitations due to physical problems, role limitations due to emotional problems, pain, emotional well-being, energy, health perceptions, social function, cognitive function, health distress, sexual function and overall quality of life.
