Electronic storage data recorders designed to measure and record physical activity (i.e., body movements) and physiologic parameters. These recorders are usually devices intended to be worn by the user. They include sensors to measure physiologic parameters (e.g., skin temperature, pulse rate) as well as external acceleration sensors that are typically attached to a patient\'s wrist or to the ankle to measure user\'s movement (i.e., activity). Physical activity/physiologic recorders also include electronic circuits that can process the data using dedicated software, and an electronic memory to store the information. The stored information is intended for later computer analysis; some recorders allow the programming of the sample period (e.g., time on, time off, number of recording days). These devices are used to assess the physical status of users in daily life activities, frequently during rehabilitation.
