Anatomic models designed to resemble a limb of a human body. These models consist of an accurate three-dimensional total or partial representation of an upper or lower limb, including a complete limb or only the appropriate components (e.g., veins, muscles, nails) needed for the intended purpose. Limb models are made of natural (e.g., bones, wood, metals) and/or synthetic (e.g., plastics, silicone rubber) materials or a combination of these. Limb anatomic models are used for demonstration and learning the different structures of a limb; they may be used in combination with other dedicated devices as components of training simulators for particular examination, therapeutic, surgical, or postmortem procedures.
