  • Anatomic models designed to resemble the torso of a human body. These models consist of an accurate three-dimensional total or partial representation of the torso (i.e., the main part of the body where the head and limbs are attached), including the complete torso or only the appropriate components (e.g., organs, ribs, spine) needed for the intended purpose. Torso models are made of natural (e.g., bones, wood, metals) and or synthetic (e.g., plastics, silicone rubber) materials or a combination of these. Torso anatomic models are used for demonstration and learning the different structures of the torso. They may be used in combination with other dedicated devices as components of training simulators for particular examination, therapeutic, surgical, or postmortem procedures.
