Prepackaged collections of the necessary devices and supplies (either custom or standard) needed for delivery of implantable pulmonary valves to appropriate locations inside the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT), a tract between the supraventricular crest and the natural pulmonary valve. Items in these kits usually include (1) the implantable endoprostheses (i.e., the valve, typically a bovine jugular valve, and an attached metal stent), (2) catheters that include a compliant section near the distal end for valve delivery and deployment (e.g., a four-chamber ensemble system), and (3) balloons to facilitate implant deployment. The valve is introduced in the vasculature (e.g., through the femoral vein) until it reaches the right location and then the balloons are inflated placing the valve and stent in place; then the catheter is retracted. The entire procedure is performed using fluoroscopic guidance for insertion to check for proper functioning of the valve. Pulmonary valve delivery kits include catheters and balloons that are available in a variety of sizes to fit patient needs, the kits are used in a percutaneous transcatheter procedures intended for implantation of pulmonary valves.
