Containers designed to provide appropriate mechanical protection during transportation of fragile products using mail services or other transportation means. These containers may consist of one of a variety of usually rigid devices (boxes, tubes, envelopes) made of different shapes, materials, and sizes and/or having other special characteristics (e.g., cushions) appropriate for the products to be transported and the conditions of the transportation. Mechanical protection containers are used mainly in the transportation of fragile products such as collection/transportation vials, bottles, or tubes frequently including clinical samples (e.g., urine, feces) sent to the clinical laboratory and/or microscope slides for further evaluation.
