?:definition
  • Projectors designed for projection on a screen of photographic positive images mounted or printed on transparent film (i.e., slides, also known as transparencies or diapositives) and also of microscope slide images. These projectors usually consist of electric powered equipment that includes a power supply, lights (e.g., halogen lamps), lenses, electronic circuitry, controls (e.g., focus, brightness), photographic slide holders and dedicated attachments intended to hold and magnify microscope slides; usually permitting the projection of images with the appropriate size necessary for multiple viewers. Some projectors may include as a component the screen intended for projection of the images. Photo/microscope slide projectors are mostly used for viewing both types of slides for analysis of diagnostic results and also for educational purposes.
