Joint tissue surgery retractor kits designed for use during procedures involving the hip. The retractor kits permit the separation of tissues (e.g., periosteal) in the hip joint, exposing and providing access to other tissues, bones, or structures of the joint. These kits typically consist of a collection of several instruments (e.g., a hip elevator) including retractors (e.g., straight, curved, narrow) of different sizes; each one is appropriate for retraction of one of the anatomic and associated structures of the hip joint when used together or independently. Hip joint retractor kits provide assistance to the surgeon during orthopedic procedures, including minimally invasive hip surgery.
