  • Prepackaged collections of devices, instruments, and supplies designed for temporary separation and retention (i.e., holding back) of tissue or other anatomical parts, exposing and/or giving access to other tissues or organs during surgical procedures. These kits typically consist of several devices and instruments that are coupled together to perform their function without manipulation once they are set (i.e., self-retained). They are available in a variety of shapes and styles according to both the tissue and/or organ to be exposed and retracted.
