  • Eye (ophthalmic) surgical designed to temporarily separate and hold back soft tissues in the upper end of the nasolacrimal duct, exposing and providing access to the duct and other related anatomic parts. These retractors are typically slender metallic (e.g., stainless steel) instruments that may include a curved, fork-like distal end and an integral handle.
