  • Sponges designed for use during surgical procedures (e.g., vitrectomy, cataracts) on the eyes. These sponges are sterile, non-adherent, soft and fast-wicking devices typically made of folded gauze, cotton, or rayon and have different shapes (e.g., spears, disks, shields) according to the procedure to be performed.
