  • Physiologic analyzers designed for non-invasive assessment of the main characteristics of the cardiovascular function and the blood circulatory system based on the variations in length of the interval between heartbeats. Analyzers of heart rate variability (HRV) measure the times elapsed between successive heartbeats (usually R-R intervals) obtained from ECG or plethysmographic signals. Dedicated software is used to determine the HRV and associated abnormalities using time domain analysis, frequency domain analysis, or both methods. Heart rate variability analyzers provide information regarding the cardiovascular system conditions and also on the autonomous nervous system (the system that regulates the arterial and venous blood circulation) status. Conditions such as the cardiac function status and vascular elasticity can be assessed helping in the evaluation of risks for diseases such as arteriosclerosis, ventricular arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac arrest.
