Handpieces designed to deliver electrohydraulic shockwave pulses generated in a main unit (i.e., console). These handpieces are handheld devices that are connected at the proximal end to the main unit and include a planar, radial, or focused shock-wave applicator at the distal tip. The handpieces are usually placed on the area under treatment and triggered to deliver the shock-wave pulses typically in the ultrasound frequency spectrum. Electrohydraulic handpieces are components of electrohydraulic shock-wave therapy systems intended to trigger biological actions; they are used for the treatment of orthopedic, dermatologic, and other types of diseases.
