Enclosures or containers made of sturdy leak-proof (usually see-through) plastic or glass that can be filled with water to house fish or other aquatic or amphibious animals. Some aquatic enclosures may be shaped to fit on racks or carts and may have lids and special openings for adding food, chemicals, or other equipment (e.g., aerators, water filter hoses, heaters, environmental sensors). They come in various sizes (e.g., 0.5 liters [.13 gallons] to 303 liters [80 gallons] or more), depending on the size of the species of animal they are meant to house.
