IVD test recorders designed to record the pH (a measure of hydrogen ion concentration) in solutions while performing laboratory tests that are mainly intended for data examination after the events have occurred. Recorders of pH usually consist of an electromechanical or electronic device that includes amplifiers, data processors, memory (e.g., electronic, chart) to store the information, and detachable electrodes to be placed in the solutions. These recorders usually can measure in the full range of pH values (i.e., 0 to 14) and some can also provide automated temperature compensation and/or alarm if the pH value is outside a pre-established range. The recorders may be associated or combined with pH controllers to keep the intended pH values during a given test.
