Hospital communication systems designed to provide communication between an infant in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and its close relatives (e.g., parents). These systems usually consist in a two-way audio and video system; the system includes cameras, microphones, and may provide a limited access to the hospital information system. The family members can watch the infant in the cradle or incubator; they can also monitor the status of the infant and send him/her voice messages. Remote neonatal communication systems facilitate the parents\' involvement in the infant care during its time in the NICU.
