Myographs designed to measure and record data and graphics (i.e., a myogram) of the forces and/or related movements produced by muscular contraction. These instruments may consist of several different technologies, including technologies based on pressure or tension transducers that are applied to the muscles (e.g., using a cuff around the limbs) and deliver an electric output signal as a result of the muscular contraction; the signal is then processed and displayed on a monitor display. Force myographs are used when a direct assessment of the muscle forces is required or desirable.
