Prepackaged collections of the devices and supplies (i.e., either custom or standard kits) needed for first-aid treatment in a variety of emergency situations that permit the care of two or more people. Items in these kits usually include small devices such as scissors, tweezers, and hemostats; supplies including tape, sterilized bandages and compresses, gauze, and eye pads; and antiseptics such as alcohol. The products included in these kits and trays should stand long storage periods (e.g., six months); they are frequently supplied in dedicated bags made of strong impermeable fabrics appropriate for transportation. Multi-person emergency first aid kits may be intended for a variety of particular uses, including natural disasters and paramedic, fireman, and emergency responders. Kits intended for the conditions of military combat are also available.
