Device testing software designed to operate ear plug and muff fitting testers, control/monitor a limited number of the tester functions, and/or process data obtained while testing. The software performs a variety of algorithms to facilitate the operation and analysis of the measurements performed while testing plug and muff fitting to a particular user. Ear plug/muff fitting software is intended to work in personal computers; it is not usually available separate from the tester but may be updated (i.e., through the release of modified versions) during the life of the tester. The software is mainly used to test the fitting of ear plugs and muffs used to provide protection to people that work in noisy environments, avoiding overprotection.
