Recorders designed to obtain external images of the whole body or body parts temperature based in its thermal emission of infrared light. These devices typically consist of an infrared digital camera, an image processor, dedicated software, and a display showing the images (usually color thermograms) obtained from the emission of infrared light due to the heat of the object. Dedicated infrared thermographs are used as graphic thermometers and/or to provide images of the body for use as an adjuvant in the diagnosis of several diseases (e.g., fever, pulmonary and breast tumors, spinal inflammation).
