Defined on the basis of multiple stains, it is bounded dorsally by area 8B, rostrally by area 9/46; caudally by area 6, and ventrocaudally by area 44. It has two parts, area 8Ad and area 8Av. Its equivalent in the macaque is located in the angle of the arcuate sulcus ( Petrides-2012 ). As granular prefrontal cortex, it has no equivalent in the rat ( Zilles-2012 ).
