Storage cabinets designed to accommodate and protect automated external defibrillators (AEDs). These cabinets may consist of either a surface or recessed wall-mounted unit and are typically made of metal (e.g., steel, aluminum), plastic, fiberglass, or wood. Many cabinets include a glass or transparent-plastic front door to make the AED visible. Additionally, these cabinets may incorporate an alarm that will sound when the cabinet door is opened. AED storage cabinets are placed in many public locations including both healthcare facilities (e.g., hospitals, physician\'s offices) and non-healthcare facilities (e.g., airports, office buildings, recreational facilities).
