  • Washers designed to clean materialographic and/or metallographic samples using ultrasound; the cleaning procedure is usually performed using ultrasound and water without adding any other chemical product. These washer typically consist of a chamber that is filled with water, a holder intended to attach one or more samples that may be of different shape and size, a moving lid to close the chamber, an ultrasonic power delivery module, a pump to deliver in and out the water to and from the chamber, and a rotatory mechanism to dry the samples after cleaning. Both stand-alone and tabletop washers are available. After washing the samples are ready for laboratory (e.g., metallographic) analysis, usually performed using some optical or electronic microscope technique.
