  • Light sources designed to provide light illumination at the distal end of an endoscope. These devices may consist of a lamp fixture that include one of a variety of light sources [e.g., , xenon, halogen, incandescent, light emitting diodes (LED)], and a delivery system such as a fiberoptic cable; dedicated adapters are frequently necessary for particular types of endoscopes.
