Muscle strength exercisers designed to provide resistance to muscular contraction using a pneumatic mechanism when the user performs exercises of the chest and upper limbs muscles. These exercisers usually consist of a stand-alone machine with a pneumatic mechanism, a system to transmit the force (i.e., to convey the resistance), and lever bars on which the user exerts force to counteract the exerciser resistance. Typically, seated users perform repetitive presses of two horizontal shoulder-width lever bars using the arms. Seated dip exercisers are intended to improve strength in the triceps and in lesser degree to the pectoral and other associated (e.g., anterior deltoid and rhomboid) muscles. These exercisers increase muscle size; enhance muscle endurance and power; and may improve bone density.
