A standardized 83-item self-report questionnaire, developed by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) in 1998 to assess the overall health, pain, and ability to participate in normal daily activities in patients 11 to 18 years of age. The instrument includes five scales: upper extremity and physical function, transfer and mobility tasks, sports/physical functioning, pain/comfort, treatment expectations, happiness, and satisfaction with symptoms, as well as a Global Functioning scale that consists of the mean of the values for the first four scales.
