Changing the valve settings modifies the opening pressure of the valve to adjust for over- or under-drainage. These adjustment tools typically employ a magnetic field to mechanically adjust the valve settings and are designed to work with a specific model of programmable valve (typically supplied by the same manufacturer). Both manual and electronic valve adjustment tools exist.
