Devices used to elevate an integrated padded surface (i.e., pillow) to move a patient from a prone to a seated position or to raise the patient\'s feet. Pillow lifters typically consist of a folded metal frame, an integrated pad, a control unit, and straps for attaching the pillow lifter to the mattress. These units are typically used on top of the mattress; however, some units may also allow use underneath the mattress. They are typically only wide enough to raise the upper or lower body of a single person or twin-size mattress.
