Stents designed for deployment into the pylorus or duodenum to provide support and/or to maintain patency of these structures. These devices typically are self-expanding metal stents designed to generate radial pressure on the pyloric/duodenal walls upon stent deployment. Some stents include radiopaque markers for accurate stent positioning. Gastroduodenal stents are typically deployed using endoscopic procedures; they are mostly used to treat duodenal strictures or gastric outlet obstructions caused by benign or malignant growths.
