Devices designed to measure and control the concentration of carbon dioxide in an enclosed atmosphere by adding carbon dioxide to the environment as needed. These controllers typically consist of an electronic unit with a display to show actual carbon dioxide concentration values in the enclosed atmosphere, appropriate sensors for detecting carbon dioxide concentrations (e.g., thermal conductivity carbon dioxide sensors, infrared carbon dioxide sensors), control knobs/buttons, and alarms to alert when carbon dioxide values are beyond a predetermined range. Carbon dioxide controllers are used mainly with laboratory equipment (e.g., incubators). These controllers may be external units capable of adding carbon dioxide concentration controlling capability to equipment; other controllers may be integral parts of equipment.
