Liquid germicides with an active component of a quaternary ammonium compound (e.g., alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, alkyl didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, dialkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride) and are intended for killing and/or inactivating microorganisms (e.g., bacteria, fungi, viruses). Quaternary ammonium compound-based germicides typically are used in low-level disinfection of noncritical surfaces (e.g., floors, furniture, walls) and for disinfection of medical equipment that contacts intact skin.
