Appliances for extracting juice from whole or prepared fruits and vegetables. Most juicers are either a centrifugal juicer that spins the produce at a high speed to separate the juice from the pulp or a masticating juicer that crush the produce to remove the juice from the pulp. Centrifugal juicers typically are upright with a rapidly spinning chamber with sharp teeth on its floor. The teeth shred the food into pulp while the spinning chamber separates the juice from the pulp and forces it through a metal filter. Masticating juicers usually have a horizontal design in which a tube containing an auger extends out of a motorized base. Produce is pushed into the top of the tube where it is crushed and squeezed by the auger. The juice then drains out of the bottom while the pulp is pushed out the end of the tube. Other juicers include citrus juicers that include a revolving conical section that is attached to a motor and automatically spins to extract the juice and manual juicers that uses manual force to press the juice out of citrus fruit.
