Machines that churn, freeze, and dispense soft serve frozen dessert items. A liquid mixture is put into the storage chamber of the machine. Air is introduced into the freezing chamber by a pump and added to the mixture. The freezing cylinder churns and quick freezes the mixture. Soft serve machines usually have one or more hoppers for adding the mixture and one or more heads for dispensing the frozen product. The machines can be used for freezing and serving ice cream, custard, frozen yogurt, gelato, and sorbet.
