Synthetic foam designed to make an accurate negative reproduction of the plantar surface of a patient\'s foot or feet. Foot impression foam is typically supplied as a rectangular block of compressible foam. To take an impression, a patient\'s foot is placed on top of the block and downward pressure is applied to sink the foot into the foam, creating a mold of the patient\'s foot. Foot impressions captured in the foam blocks are used in the manufacture of personalized orthotics and/or prostheses.
