refers to one of four parts of the dorsal posterior cingulate cortex. The other parts are area 23d of Vogt, area d23, and area d31. In the human it is located in the upper and lower banks of the cingulate sulcus...in the medial parietal lobe and the cingulate gyrus respectively. It is caudal to area p24d of the posterior midcingulate cortex, dorsal to area 23d of Vogt, and rostral to area d23. Its location in the macaque is similar, except that it does not extend into the upper bank of the sulcus ( Vogt-2012 ). It may have partial equivalence to the cingulate/retrosplenial cortex of the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and the mouse ( Hof-2000 ).
