Defined by multiple criteria, it is a part of MT+ neighbors. Compared to adjacent areas, it is less fMRI activated in a SOCIAL-RANDOM contrast and a TOOL task. It is deactivated in a RELATIONAL-MATCH contrast and in WORKING MEMORY, FACE and PLACE tasks. Other authors have referred to the same topological area as hOC4la ( Glasser-2016 ).
