Myoclonic absence status epilepticus is a type of generalized non-convulsive status epilepticus without coma that is semiologically a prolonged myoclonic absence seizure. Myoclonic absence status epilepticus consists of proximal, predominantly upper extremity myoclonic jerks corresponding with 3 Hz spike-wave discharges in the EEG. [PMID:26336950]
