Units designed to deliver a high-flow (typically greater than 15 L/min) of heated and humidified air or mixture of air and oxygen to a patient. These units usually consist of a flow generator, active heated humidifier, breathing circuit, and nasal cannula. High-flow oxygen delivery units have adjustable temperature and flow settings and can provide air/oxygen flows up to 60L/min. Some units also have tracheostomy or mask interfaces for delivery of the air/oxygen flow.
