Fiberoptic cable endoscope light sources that produce flashes of illumination. These stroboscopic light sources are usually used to view vocal cords and to aid in analyzing vocal fold structure and motion. They may incorporate a microphone that is used to synchronize or asynchronize the frequency of the light flashes with the patient\'s vocal folds vibrations. Some of these stroboscopic light sources can also function as a continuous light source. These devices are commonly used as part of a video system for fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) or speech pathology assessment.
