Dr Hamdi Aziz Pasha, started autonomous bacteriology studies in the Medical School and worked as a bacteriology lecturer for many years He also chaired the health committee during the cholera epidemic which prevailed in the Aleppo Province, the Sanjak of Zor and Iraq between the years 1902-1904 He collected his findings during this assignment into a book titled \'Suriye Kttastyla Zor Sancagt ye Hitta-t Irakiye\'de Kolera istilatt, 1318-1320\' (Cholera Epidemic in Syrian Region, the Sanjak of Zor and Iraq, 1318-132) This work, which is one of the significant resources of our study, contains the damage of cholera in Iraq, its spreading routes and measures required to be taken against cholera This work, written 115 years ago, also shows past examples of some mistakes nowadays The article\'s findings guide the protection of Public Health for the administrators of the period Besides, these findings will contribute to today\'s administrators who have faced similar situations in the days when we are fighting the Covid-19 outbreak The purpose of our study is to provide information about the life, services and works of Dr Hamdi Aziz Pasha and to reveal his findings on the cholera epidemic which prevailed in Iraq regions between the years 1902-1904 Essential resources of our study are the documents we have obtained from various classifications of the Ottoman Empire and the aforementioned book of Dr Hamdi Aziz Pasha In addition, some research works related to our subject was also used
