?:abstract
  • The COVID-19 pandemic has considerably disrupted daily life and the normal functioning of hospitals. One of the clearest examples has been the drastic reduction in paediatric emergency departments visits during the pandemic (1). But we have also observed another very interesting and unexpected phenomenon in our Italian hospital. Admissions for febrile seizures from March to May 2020 were more than three times the same period in 2019. This included cases admitted via the emergency department and direct transfers from other hospitals.
