Devices that contain anesthesia units as their main component and which administer a mixture of gases to control an individual\'s level of consciousness. These systems also include other auxiliary equipment such as enhanced patient vital sign monitors, anesthesia record keeping capabilities, and integration into anesthesia information management systems. Some anesthesia systems include enhanced ventilator support for high-risk patients or subsystems capable of automatically dispensing injectable anesthetic drugs. Anesthesia systems go beyond the capabilities of anesthesia units that usually only offer the minimum requirements of monitors and alarms to provide inhaled anesthesia to an individual.
